ur mission, which we have decided to accept, is to talk about some great music and then actually play that music, sourced from the original vinyl recording or some incredibly special re-issue – much of it coming from the racks and stacks of the aforementioned Michael Nattboy.

That happens to be a very 1st pressing from the US on Mercury Records. The song we just heard, “True Blue”, is one of those album tracks that you might have heard in the early days of progressive FM radio but which have all but become extinct from commercial radio nowadays.

I was in a little record shop in a town called Claremont and while browsing through the racks, found this gem. It’s an original 1964 mono US pressing of the Beatles “Something New” LP on Capitol Records. While not necessarily uncommon in used record stores, finding a copy such as this one, which looks virtually brand new, is rather unusual.
